Practice Manager

Jasmin Williams

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering a patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Deputy Practice Manager

Elena Salousti

Patient reports and recalls as requested by all members of the primary health care team. Co-ordinating administrative events at the practice. Practice finance and maintenance of premises and . Also organising doctor and nursing staff rotas.

Receptionist Manager

Linda Gibson

Supervision of reception staff and their rotas. Dealing with queries and patient enquiries. Helping with online services, new patient registrations and registration queries.

Administration

Kirsty, Fay, Sue, Jo and Owen

Data input of all patient contacts from outside sources.

Recall of patients for developmental checks, overdue smears and vaccinations where applicable.

Keeping an up to date set of instructions on use of the computer and of important Read codes for major diseases for computer entry.

Supervision of and alteration of computerised repeat prescription system with doctors’ direction.

Data input of major illness data from hospital letters.

Scanning and processing of electronic transmissions from other providers including out of hours communications.

Scanning in practice related material.

Reception

Appointments system organisation for doctors and practice nurses including those attending, telephoning and requesting visits.

Weekly audit of wait for appointments.

Part time cross cover of both surgery sites in a rota organised by the senior receptionist. Dealing with telephone queries if necessary on a personal one to one basis with the patient.

Dealing with doctors’ filing.

Logging patients in on computerised appointments system and helping patients with touchscreen.

Filing and scanning of written notes.

Printing out but not altering repeat prescriptions.

Typing and managing referrals and doctors’ correspondence, liaising with hospitals and booking referrals.

Dealing with insurance companies’ and solicitors’ requests for reports.
