Dr C Benham
All day Wednesday & alternate Tuesdays & Friday
I graduated from The Royal Free Hospital Medical School in 1990 and initially worked in hospitals around North London.
In 1994 I worked at St Peter’s Hospital in Paediatrics and then completed my General practice training in Woking. I joined Southview Surgery as a partner in 1997.
I enjoy all aspects of General practice but do have a particular interest in Women’s Health including contraceptive implants and Paediatrics.
I am married with three boys.
In recent years I have been involved in Planned care for North West Surrey CCG and I am currently the clinical lead for Referral Support Services and a clinical triager within the RSS Team. -
Dr C Baker
I graduated in 1994 from St Bartholomew’s Medical College. I initially worked in East London, before moving out to Hertfordshire. I completed my GP training in 1998 and subsequently worked in a practice in Harpenden for six years. I spent three years living just outside New York, before moving to Woking in 2008. I joined Southview in 2011 as a salaried GP and am now a part time partner at Southview.
I enjoy all aspects of general practice, although I am particularly interested in women’s health. I fit coils and the contraceptive implant.
I am also CEO of the local GP federation NICS, which was set up to enable GPs to work together to deliver care in different ways. I am constantly looking to see if there are innovative and collaborative ways of working that will improve the care that patients receive. -
Dr R Singam – Salaried GP
All day Mondays, Tuesday and Half day Wednesday
I graduated from St George’s Medical School in 2003. I did my GP training in South London and Surrey I qualified as a GP in 2007 and worked in Guildford for 8 years before joining Southview as a salaried GP in October 2016 and becoming a partner in December 2018
I enjoy the huge variety of General Practice and am particularly interested in contraception and Dermatology. I fit coils and contraceptive implants. I am currently undertaking a Diploma in Dermatology.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and am a keen runner.
I qualified as a GP in 2007 and worked in Guildford for 8 years before joining Southview as a salaried GP in October 2016 and becoming a partner in December 2018. -
Dr N Akbar
I graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 2001. My post-graduate training has predominantly been based in the South East of England including the Royal Surrey County Hospital and St Georges Hospital where I initially trained in general medicine particularly diabetes.
In 2007 I decided to move into general practice and have been working in the Woking area since then. I joined Southview Medical Practice as a part-time salaried GP and became a partner in April 2016. I am currently the lead GP for diabetes. However I enjoy all aspects of general practice.
I live locally with my husband and two children and when I am not working as a GP and a mother, I enjoy spinning, cycling and reading fiction. -
Dr T Mazhari
I work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I graduated from Medical school in 2003 and shortly after that, I moved to the UK from Iran with my husband. I lived and worked in different parts of the UK for a while before settling down in Poole, Dorset where I finished my GP training in 2009. I moved to Surrey in 2011 and joined Southview Practice in 2017 as a Salaried GP. Now I am a part time partner in Southview Surgery and although I enjoy many areas of my work in General Practice, my special interests are Musculoskeletal Medicine and skin conditions. I perform joint injections and Minor Surgery procedures for benign skin conditions. I live locally with my husband and two children. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, exercising, and baking.

Dr A Kassir
I qualified as a doctor in 2003 and as a GP in 2012. I completed my GP training in Kingston and have had experience in a vast range of clinical specialities. I briefly worked as a GP in the Kingston area before moving to become a salaried GP in Guildford for the next 5 years. During this time I was the lead GP tutor for medical students from St George’s Medical School and I continue to have a keen interest in teaching and training. Whilst I enjoy all aspects of General practice, I particularly enjoy managing children and older adults. I am also a trained family planning practitioner and can fit contraceptive coils and implants.

Dr Mantel-Cooper
I qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991 and completed my GP training at St Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey. I was a GP partner at Chertsey Health Centre from 1999-2019, Clinical Director of their Primary care network and a GP trainer for 10 years. I am interested in General Practice management, looking at ways of improving primary care for both staff and patients. I co-founded NICs GP federation with Dr Baker in 2016 and became the Medical Director in 2020. I also work for the CCG as a clinical lead. I enjoy all aspects of General Practice and work at Southview surgery on Thursday mornings.

Dr S Johnson
I graduated from Cardiff Medical School in 1993 and initially trained in paediatrics. In 1999 I moved into General Practice and over the next 10 years I worked in both GP and paediatric roles in Cardiff, London and Surrey, alongside roles in Medical Education. I then spent 12 years as the medical director of an organisation running GP practices, walk in centres and urgent care centres for the NHS and I continued to practice as a GP in London.
Since 2020 I have worked as a part time GP in Woking alongside my work with the CQC and advising new healthcare companies develop safe, effective and innovative care. I enjoy supporting more junior clinicians develop to their potential and helping to shape new clinical pathways and services.
After nearly 30 years in the NHS I still love my work as a GP, my special interest areas are paediatrics (child health) and mental health.
I live locally with my husband, my three grown up children have mostly flown the nest giving me time to enjoy running, spin and trips to the coast.
